What we measure on the visit
We light every burner, watch each flame at high and at its lowest setting, and note which ones lift, yellow or drop out. One bad burner is a local fault; a whole top that burns lazy points upstream of the burners, and anything upstream of the appliance goes to a gas fitter.
Then we switch the hood on over the lit top. A rangetop that is fine under a hood that cannot clear it still fills the kitchen, and the fix for that is not in the rangetop.

On Viking's current built-in gas rangetops the pressure regulator is built into the unit, and the installation guide says never to bypass it. Low-flame and yellow-flame faults are checked on the burner first, then at the appliance, never by adjusting the supply.
The hood is part of the same job. We check that it draws with every burner lit, that its filters are clean and that its duct is not choking it, and we tell you which of the two is the real complaint before either is repaired.

A band, not a single price, because the part that failed sets the figure. The readings come first; the firm number for parts and labour comes second and is agreed with you before a panel comes off. Hood and ventilation work has no band here and is quoted after the diagnosis.
